What is the 15-board deployment matrix?

What should you measure on each layout?

Measure the complete route, not only the destination. Check whether a unit can leave its staging area, reach the intended turn-two objective, keep every base in coherency, preserve a support aura or weapon range, and still leave a fallback when the opponent reveals a different pressure point.

What can 40 Carrot show, and what can it not decide?

Official practice layouts, complete unit footprints, exact measurements, coherency, modeled line of sight, auras, threat overlays, saved boards, and repeatable first-turn positions.
It cannot decide
The safest deployment, the opponent’s exact plan, the best reserve choice, or which route wins the game. Those depend on threats, mission details, terrain interpretation, and choices made at the table.
LOS limit
Visibility is a geometric model. It does not replace the event’s terrain definitions, current rules, or a table ruling.
Charge limit
Movement plus charge displays an outer maximum using Movement plus 12 inches. It is not a guaranteed charge and does not calculate a valid path.

How should you record the result?

Teach yourself patterns and triggers, not scripts. A compact note should survive a different opposing army without pretending every opening is identical.
