40K Deployment Planner

40 Carrot is a browser-based Warhammer 40K deployment planner for a true-scale 60 by 44 inch tabletop. Choose an 11th Edition mission, place models at their real base sizes, measure movement and firing lanes, and check line of sight before game day. The live boards below work without an account.

Is this how you prepare?

Use these three live boards if your pre-game questions are practical: where the army fits, what the distances really are, and which lanes are exposed. Each field test is the same tabletop engine used by 40 Carrot, narrowed to one job.

Stage the force

Does the army fit where the plan says it does?

Place a sample strike force with real model counts and base sizes. Then drag a unit to test the space around terrain and objectives.

Try: place the sample, then move one unit out of the staging line.

Sample ready to place.

Measure the commitment

Can the unit reach the place you assigned it?

The ruler snaps to real bases on a scaled board. Start on one model, finish on another, and read the distance without converting pixels or guessing from a screenshot.

Try: click one base, then another. The ruler is already held.

Measure is active · select two models

Test the firing lanes

What can see the unit after it gets there?

Turn on line of sight, a threat range or an aura from the live toolbar. Move a model and the overlays follow what is on the table instead of staying painted onto an image.

Try: choose Line of Sight in the toolbar, then drag the selected model.

A deployment plan is credible only when the geometry survives contact with a physical board. 40 Carrot keeps battlefield inches, base millimetres, mission zones and placed models in the same coordinate system.

Field notes

What is a Warhammer 40K deployment planner?

A deployment planner is a scaled battlefield where you can choose a mission layout, place your army, measure distances and check firing lanes before a game. 40 Carrot runs that table in your browser.

Can I plan a 40K deployment for free?

Yes. The full-size tabletop, terrain, objectives, unit placement and measuring are free with a free account. The live exercises on this page need no account.

Is the deployment board true scale?

Yes. The standard battlefield is 60 inches by 44 inches and model bases use their real millimetre dimensions, so the space and distances match a physical table.

Does the deployment planner work on mobile?

Yes. 40 Carrot and this page's live exercises work in a mobile browser as well as on desktop. Nothing needs to be installed.

Closing order

Arrive with a deployment, not a guess.

Build the full board, place both sides, and keep the same geometry in front of you when game day starts.
