40 Carrot vs the other 40K Virtual Tabletop tools

Four browser tools, four different jobs. Every line here about another tool is what that tool's own page says.

TL;DR

Pick by the job. Rapid Ingress and TacticalDropz describe deployment planning, Find My List describes a 3D battlefield with online multiplayer, and Wargame Toolbox describes separate single-purpose tools. 40 Carrot is a browser Virtual Tabletop for solo reps at true scale: 15 tables per tab, free army file import, measuring, dice and damage odds in one place.

What each tool's own page says

Everything in these four cards is drawn from the tool's own published description, read on 28 September 2026. Nothing is benchmarked, scored or ranked, and a feature we could not find stated on a tool's own page is not listed for it.

Rapid Ingress

  • The free browser tool includes 11th-edition layouts, base placement, deployment testing and line-of-sight measurement.
  • Its paid tier is priced at $6/month or $60/year and adds mobile app access, army-list import, custom layouts and board sizes, unlimited saved boards and layouts, and sharing.
  • On 24 July 2026 the same page showed $5/month and listed a legacy 10th-edition mode. Neither appears now.

Look at the part a feature list leaves out

A feature list cannot tell you whether the distance under your hand is the distance you will measure across a real table. The frame below keeps model bases, terrain and a measured line together at tabletop scale.

Where 40 Carrot differs

Rapid Ingress and TacticalDropz describe deployment planning, Find My List describes 2D deployment practice beside its 3D game, and Wargame Toolbox describes separate single-purpose tools. 40 Carrot is built for the loop after the plan: set the position, run the decision, reset, run it again until it stops costing you time on game day.

Plan it or play itLay out a map, test a disposition, or play a full game against another person. Those jobs belong to the tools above, in their own words.

What 40 Carrot gives you, exactly

Where these claims come from

Four published pages, read on 28 September 2026: rapidingress.com, tacticaldropz.com/about.html, findmylist.net and wargametoolbox.org. The 40 Carrot side is read from the shipping app and its billing copy.

Prices and feature lists on other sites move. Rapid Ingress changed its price between the two dates on this page and dropped a mode it used to list, which is why every line carries the date it was read rather than a standing claim.

A feature we could not find stated on a tool's own page is not on this page at all, in either direction.

Straight answers

Which of these tools is free?

Rapid Ingress, TacticalDropz and Wargame Toolbox each describe a free browser tier on their own page. We hold no pricing line for Find My List, so this page does not state one. On 40 Carrot the Virtual Tabletop, terrain, measuring, dice, printable data cards and army file import are free with a free account, and the Damage Calculator needs no account at all. Full Access ($4 a month or $33 lifetime) adds army-list text import, snapshots and replay, cloud saves, unlimited permanent share links, extra themes, data backup and restore, and General Mode with your army laid out for the table.

Which of these pages lists online multiplayer?

Find My List's own page lists online multiplayer. 40 Carrot is built around solo reps: you run both sides on one Virtual Tabletop, and a read-only share link lets someone open the same position without an account.

Do the others import an army list the way 40 Carrot does?

Not the same way. Rapid Ingress lists army-list import in its paid tier, TacticalDropz lists GW and New Recruit army-list import in its free planner, and Find My List supports pasted army lists. 40 Carrot reads .json, .ros and .rosz army files on a free account, and pasted list text is part of Full Access.

Can one of these replace the others?

No. The jobs these pages describe are different. Wargame Toolbox is a set of single-purpose tools. Rapid Ingress and TacticalDropz both describe deployment planning. Find My List describes a 3D battlefield with multiplayer. 40 Carrot is a true-scale Virtual Tabletop for repeating one decision until it stops costing you time. Pick by the job in front of you.
